Use case — newsletter & creator discovery

Find the publishers who own an inbox — and the audience that opens it.

Newsletter sponsorships and creator partnerships need a specific kind of publisher: one with an active email list or an engaged social following, not just a blog. We read 120M+ classified domains for concrete newsletter and social signals, screen them against your ICP, and hand you the ones actually worth a sponsorship pitch.

The job to be done

An affiliate list and a sponsorship list are not the same list

Plenty of qualified affiliate publishers have no email list at all — and a newsletter-sponsorship or creator-partnership budget spent on them is wasted. This use case narrows discovery to publishers with a channel you can actually book: an inbox, a feed, or both.

Sponsorship inventory

An active newsletter is bookable ad inventory — a dedicated send or a placement in a regular issue. You need proof the list exists and ships, not just a dusty signup box in the footer.

Creator reach

Linked, active social profiles turn a publisher into a creator partner who can post, not only publish. We look for real, current accounts — not a row of dead icons.

Deal-readiness

A "sponsor us" or "advertise" page, a media kit, or past sponsor mentions tell you a publisher already takes paid placements — shortening the path from outreach to a booked campaign.

How discovery runs

Five steps to a sponsorship-ready shortlist

The newsletter and social signals are read on the same full-web pass as the rest of the ICP screen, so channel evidence and fit are computed together — never bolted on afterward.

1

Pull the vertical

Every domain in your category is isolated from the 120M+ classified universe — the full field of potential newsletter and creator partners, not a directory's shortlist.

2

Detect the email channel

The LLM reads each site for a real signup path — an embedded form, an email-platform footprint, an archive of past issues — and distinguishes an active list from a decorative box.

3

Assess social presence

Linked social profiles are checked for existence and signs of current activity, so "has socials" means live accounts — not a template's leftover icons.

4

Read deal-readiness

Advertise/sponsor pages, media kits, and existing sponsor mentions are flagged, so publishers who already sell placements rise to the top of the queue.

5

Screen & deliver

Everything is scored against your ICP with confidence per signal, deduplicated to one row per canonical domain, and delivered ready to sort by channel strength.

6

Calibrate first

Before the full run, you review a sample — is a footer form enough, or must there be a visible archive? We tune the definitions to your bar, then run.

The signals

12 newsletter- and creator-specific signals

Generic "has a newsletter" is not enough to spend a sponsorship budget on. These are the concrete, niche-specific signals we extract — each with its own confidence score.

Email signup form present Email-platform footprint (ESP) Newsletter platform (Substack / beehiiv / Ghost) Public issue archive Send-cadence evidence "Advertise" / "sponsor us" page Media kit available Past sponsor mentions Linked social profiles Signs of current social activity Public subscriber / follower claim Named author / creator identity Decorative-only signup (disqualifier) Dead social icons (disqualifier)

Need a signal that isn't here — "runs a podcast", "has a YouTube channel", "accepts affiliate + sponsorship both"? Custom signals are defined per engagement and calibrated the same way.

A note on confidentiality

The example profile below is drawn from a real screening run. Because the publisher is an independent site, we follow standard confidentiality practice on public pages: the domain is withheld and details generalized, so the profile is intentionally not traceable to a specific site — including through a web search. That protects the publisher without changing the underlying data. Your pilot and client deliverables carry the actual domains with every signal, so each profile can be verified directly.

Why this one is bookable

It doesn't just have a signup box — it has an ESP footprint, a visible weekly archive, an advertise page, and prior sponsor mentions. That combination says the list is real, sends regularly, and already takes paid placements.

What gets filtered out

A qualified affiliate blog with only a decorative footer form and dead social icons is fit for affiliate recruitment but not for a sponsorship pitch — so it's flagged and kept out of this shortlist.

The opportunity

Newsletter partners are hiding in the long tail

Sponsorship marketplaces show you the same few big lists everyone bids on. Full-web discovery surfaces the independent newsletters and creators no marketplace has enrolled — where affordable, uncontested sponsorship inventory actually sits.

Questions

Newsletter publisher discovery — FAQ

Can you tell an active newsletter from a dead signup box?
That distinction is the whole point. A decorative footer form scores differently from a list backed by an email-platform footprint, a public issue archive, and visible send cadence. A signup box with no other evidence is flagged as a likely decorative-only channel, so it doesn't clog your sponsorship shortlist.
Do you report subscriber counts?
Only when a publisher states one publicly — and it's captured as a claim, not a verified figure. We don't invent or estimate list sizes. For reach we lean on reproducible proxies and observable evidence like send cadence and a public archive, which are honest and checkable.
Can I require both a newsletter and active social?
Yes. Each signal can be set as required, preferred, or disqualifying in your ICP. Want only publishers with both an active list and a live social presence? Make both required. Want a broader net? Set social as preferred so it boosts the fit score without excluding inbox-only publishers.
How do you find publishers no sponsorship marketplace lists?
By starting from the whole web rather than an enrolled roster. The category pull reads every classified domain in your vertical, so independent newsletters and creators who never joined a marketplace — where the affordable, uncontested inventory sits — surface right alongside the well-known lists.
Can you flag publishers that already take sponsorships?
Yes — an "advertise" or "sponsor us" page, a media kit, and past sponsor mentions are all captured as signals. Filtering to publishers with those flags gives you a deal-ready segment where the path from first email to a booked placement is shortest.
What does the free pilot include?
